I've been an OLP fan forever and i don't understand why fans don't like this. Sure it sounds a bit like a radio pop-rock song but have you listened to the lyrics?? " tried to run but I couldn't move, Well I paid for these concrete shoes", "Like the red sea you split me open, Somehow I knew these wings were stolen, All you did was save my life." I think this is an amazing song. Raine uses a great deal of emotion as usual and was able to create something very powerful in my mind. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album!! |

This may very well not be the message that Lifehouse was trying to get across, but this is what it means to me in the way that i can relate so much of it to myself. It seems to be about a guy who's going through the hardest struggle of his life. an internal storm and he doesn't know how much longer he can take it. i think he loves someone. he loves someone so dearly but she doesn't feel the same. for whatever reason that they are not together he still loves her more than his heart can comprehend and it's killing him because his love is the only thing keeping him alive but she doesn't feel the same. She never meant to hurt him "i know you didn't mean to bring me out here to drown, so why am i ten feet inder and upside down?". even though she never intended to hurt him, he can't get over it. The only thing that could make things better is if she changed her feelings, if she could see him. it's the only thing and it could be so simple to make things alright. he is wishing that a miracle could happen to make things alright again "and i will walk on water." If there were miracles then things would play out right. she would catch him if he fell, he'd get lost in her eyes, and things would happen as they were meant to be. It could all be so simple, but it seems like such a distant miracle. There will only ever be one way out of this storm. |

| I like "Violet Hill", liked "Viva la Vida" even better, and this song.... I absolutely love. Already I am ranking this in Coldplay's top 5 with the likes of "Fix You" This song is just amazing. No explanation needed. Chris Martin is a genious and this song will shun any thoughts that Coldpay changed their style for the worst. This song does a great job of making me want to cry | |

I think it has something to do with Jack being an avid junk collector. Seriously. I was reading an article of him in the paper and he was saying that he has an obsession for junk. Pretty much anything that might arouse particular interest that people throw out. He said that he used to be in the business and would often move collect old couches for re-sale which people threw out. So it has something to do with rediscovering the beauty of things that most people don't find usefull anymore. "Bring out your junk and we'll give it a home." "It's just things you don't want I can use them, Meg can use them We can do something with them We’ll make something out of them" This describes what i'm saying perfectly. |
