Without a strong father figure in their life they run amok. Sleeping with any random guy for validation, to feel wanted. This song is about being with a girl that he knew was doomed from an early age. She is tainted, and he's telling her maybe one day, when she realizes how low her self worth really is, she will look back and remember him. |

Favorite TS song. The song is pretty hard to figure out. I'm assuming it's about drugs and alcohol abuse. The beginning seems kind of sarcastic, but some parts it gets pretty serious. The "I'm losing, my friend" part makes me think that the whole drug and alcohol abuse might be causing him to drift from his friend. I especially like the "This river's a fountain A corpse in the canyon A drink in the mountains" line. He basically feels dead. Like he is alive but he's not LIVING. He feels he can't full "live" without the use of alcohol and drugs. I also like the heart is a headache line.. very catchy. |

I think it's "this mouth pleads" as well. It makes a lot more sense. I agree with coup, I think the song is about the actual break-up itself. It's basically just a song about how he is going to miss her. I think the "I walked the halls one thousand years" references to how long he has been searching for love. He thought he was in love, but he realizes it was just an illusion. He still cares for her, but he knows he will just find someone else to replace his false ideas of love.
