| I'm not a DC fan by any means, but I really like this song. The intro is my favorite part of it by far, and is essential to the song. I say the people that hate the long intro are just impatient, and don't appreciate how that ties into the lyrics. | |

djnee - Hurricanes rotate just like tornadoes; except on a larger area. I really like this song. Easily my favorite Killers song. LMJ's interpretation is almost verbatim how I thought it meant when I first heard it. I can relate to the male that this song is talking about (not to be full of myself, of course ;) ). She and I are socially way different, but it's been made clear we like each other, and like being with each other. That's really all that should matter, and I think that's the point they're trying to make. |

I've never been a huge Foo Fighters fan, but I can say at this point in time, this is my favorite song. I remember hearing this when it came out, I think I was in 6th or 7th grade; it didn't really mean much to me at the time. I'm well into college now, and only recently I heard it played on the radio, and actually listened to what Grohl was saying - and I don't know of any other song that has cut into me like this one did (and does)! Too me it describes the powerful, fiery emotions involved in being with that perfect girl. It also touches on the tragedy of the fear of not ever being with her/feeling like this again. I rediscovered this song AS I was going through that with a girl. It just hit home so hard... I'm definitely NOT an emotional person, but this song has made me tear up on a few occasions; even though there IS that slight feeling of hope in it too, which is why I keep listening to it. |
