| It seems like a lot of people can relate to this song, and it holds a great deal of meaning for me as well. Without going too in depth, one of my best guy friends and I did tried a friends with benefits situation for a few weeks and unfortunately things got super weird. This song has a lot of relevant lines regarding the situation, and explores the conflicting ideas of a purely sexual vs romantic relationship. The line, "Here we go again, I feel the chemicals kicking in" reminds me a lot of nights we used to spend together during which a specific recreational drug was often involved. Honestly if there's one thing I learned from all of this it is this: DO NOT have sex with your best friend if there's no way you could ever pursue a romantic relationship (there is a very good reason a relationship could never happen). It will be fun at first but will almost certainly alter in some way or ruin the relationship. I just want my best friend back :( | |
