I love this song, and it has an amazing intro. I'm only 19 and I've always told my parents that I was born into the wrong era, haha. If only I could see Floyd live, but of course that's just wishful thinking. I think "shine on you crazy diamond" is sort of ironic cause by then Syd's "light" had already died. It sounds like the guitar is weeping in the solo towards the end. |

The lyrics are pretty explanatory. He's reflecting on a relationship that's pretty much lost its juice, and has come to a complete standstill. "Something in the air" meaning that there's definitely something different about the relationship although they've kept going for so long, as if two people initially so in love are suddenly strange bedmates. |

I like this song - it isn't as heavy as their other songs, but it still has that thumpthump. I've actually never noticed how simple Meg's drumming was until I started listening to other bands, but I still love her. It looks so endearing watching her play. |
