Copeland – I'm Safer On An Airplane Lyrics 18 years ago
The lyrics talk about how the world needs peace, hope, and love. I think they're presented in a specific order, where love is the most important out of the 3.

Copeland – The Last Time He Saw Dorie Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is inspired from Aaron's favorite Woody Allen movie, Stardust Memories. I haven't seen the movie, but I'm guessing it has direct references to the plot.

Copeland – Sleep Lyrics 18 years ago
I think the song is about a dream, hence the title "sleep". Like when you are confused in a dream and don't know if it's reality or a dream. Then the mind wanders to the person he loves, wondering if they'll be there when he wakes up.

Btw, I asked Aaron how to play the middle parts of the song on the piano at a show, and he told me! That was exciting.

Copeland – Eat, Sleep, Repeat Lyrics 18 years ago
I think the whole song might be a message to someone who is heartbroken. The two verses describe what love is or explaining what it is, maybe in a more negative light:
The first verse talks about its power to hurt even the strongest and smartest people.
The second verse talks about how people who are loved get everything they want by those who love them, but they take it for granted.

Then the chorus is actually directly "comforting" the heartbroken person, telling them that they shouldn't feel like a failure since they didn't know what they were doing. "Do you think it's unwise to go and break yourself on this one?" may be telling the person not to blame themselves.

Since the person didn't know what love is and didn't know what he/she was doing, the verse explain to them what love is.

Copeland – Love Affair Lyrics 18 years ago
"Fell past a cheekbone hill to a piece of her floor. The hopes of her world in an awkward spill"
That first line is amazing in describing a girl crying. I like how the way he describes the awkward "spill" is also in reference to tears/water/etc. Just beautiful.

"Just let me run where I want to run, just let me love who I want"
I think although the title is "love affair", the song is more about the insecurities of being cheated on, or the after-effects. I think this line is probably said by the person who is making the girl cry.

"Lose your head just for your heart."
I think this line talks about how a person is obviously untrustworthy/unfaithful, yet the heart often overrides logic and common sense. However, I think that this line isn't saying that it is a stupid idea, but that we should not always let logic/common sense stop us from loving someone, as the line refers to "those who play it smart" as being fools.

Maybe this is interpreting it too much, but I love how copeland lyrics in many instances are almost word-for-word of my own experience. These lyrics are so poetic and lovely. I think this is probably the most well-written copeland song ever. That jazzy part at the end is just amazing.

Aaron Marsh said in an interview that this song was written as a letter to God when he was doubting, trying to tell God to leave him alone.

Copeland – Chin Up Lyrics 18 years ago
Ah, i love copeland.
- I think the line "you'd break your neck to keep your chin up"
means that you'd rather hurt yourself than lose face/pride.
- I think "back to where we started, losing who we were"
is about going back to a place after leaving for a while. people have all changed although they are back in the same place.

to me, this song reminds me of returning home after a year of college. although we still have a friendship, all my highschool friends have their own lives now and it's not the same.
