I would say this is the less but best (damn its good)of the less floydian one they made. Although it is very similar to the end of Pow R. Toc H.

As a reply to inpraiseofholy, I'd say that "lines converging where you stands" means he's getting heavy, every thing around him seems being falling in his sight, he's a heavy mass and everything seems distorted toward him.
Yeah, I'm no existentialist but this comment I've done makes me laugh. |

In French, Cymbale, as Cymbals, are those round brass plates on the drums or that you hold in your hands and struck against one another. To me it seems that it would be the sound of the cymbal, maybe refering to their creative sessions where Waters gets off the bureaucratic side of being a band and just leaves as the music takes him.
Maybe knowing who is Doctor Strange would help understand.

With the few pictures of the movie La Vallee I've seen, one was of some aborigins coverd with mud, so I guess (this is pure speculation, since I haven't seen the movie) that's what the song is about... or, I'd rather say, I wouldn't be surprise if this piece of music was used for a (the?) seen where they covered themselves with mud.
And oh! Yes, Gilmour is great on this one but, listen carefuly for the organs... this is where the magical greatness of the music come from here, especialy in the great guitar gig. |
