haha this songs lyrics are pretty simple but they make me laugh its so typical guy trying to make the girl feel guilty for not wanting to have sex with him yet she wants to "wait til its right" he wants to "do it tonight" "i've gotta see that you care you've gotta show me" guilt trip or what! amazing song |

i dont think its contradictory either i think its about a couple the girl to begin with is telling him that things will never change and that she loves him blah blah blah but he knows that its too good to be true. The girl proves him right by leaving him, but the lines "i'll never take it back" and "you're not pleased til you draw blood" give me the impression that she has hurt him badly and he doesn't want to take her back even though she claims that she has changed "I know that you’re wrong You’ve known all along" she has always known that what she was doing to him was wrong but she carried on doing it. He doesn't want to upset her but he won't take her back and he isn't sorry for not taking her back because he knows that she was wrong to hurt him. |

im not sure if its meant literally with the whole party idea but i definately think that its about two people that are close friends and then when they are drunk they take things further and sleep with each other the next day they are left feeling awkard and keith leaves but she is shouting for him to come back, most likely to sort things out. he says "i should have known that this would happen from the atart" implying that he went out knowing that something was going to happen between them, so he clearly meant to do it and now she wants nothing to do with him and he's confused and hurt. He has been "hit" and he is sick of putting up with her drama i get the impression she leads him on and says things that she doesnt mean. I get this impression from "and all the words that you said are somehow stuck in my mouth" or this could also mean something completely different such as he wants to tell her he feels the same way but he can't but that doesnt really fit in with the rest of the song so maybe not.. |
