yeah it does...buried a lie...they buried her and claimed that she killed herself, which is apparently a lie. buried a lie. there ya goo. as to this song, i strongly believe it is a metaphor about a relationship. when they say the girl died, it means like she is dead emotionally to buddy. and it's kinda saying she 'commited suicide' which means that she broke up with him herself, but he thinks someone else 'poisoned' her mind into breaking up with buddy, and buddy thinks there is 'foulplay' which means there was 'someone else present'. it makes a lot of sense. think about it. |

I think this song is about an on-off relationship in which the two people in the relationship try to make it work out. "just take it back (I feel) they're only words (your hair) we hold the tethers (through my) we're here together (fingers) we paint the night (every) only to find (silk STRAND) [I think it is strand, not stand] it's cracked and peeling (takes my) each face revealing (breath a-) what we don't say (-way)" When it says "Just take it back, they're only words" I think it might resemble a fight between the couple, and that they should take it back and forget what they said during the fight, because they were only words and nothing more. When it says "We hold the tethers, we are here together" I think this means that they are tied together forever by tethers which can represent them trying to make the relationship work, because they are there together because of the tethers and they don't wanna let go. When it says "We paint the night only to find it's cracked and peeling, each face revealing what we don't say", I think the night symbolizes the base of their relationship(it can represent that their relationship is 'dark' [night=dark]), and that they are trying to paint over the darkness of their relationship, and trying to forget the past by painting over it, and make it a good relationship, meanwhile underneath all the good parts of the relationship, lies the 'dark part' of the relationship. However, it is 'cracking and peeling', which I think means that the paint over the dark part of the relationship is cracking and peeling, which resembles the dark parts of the relationship coming out once again, and trying to paint over the relationship to make it seem good isn't working. xxxxxxxxxx "let's take these lines and draw ourselves out of here this shipwreck from set-sail we'll map the stars tonight they help to find a way when all is said words can breathe more life than death" When it says "let's take these lines and draw ourselves out of here", I think this means that they should take the lines from this song and withdraw themselves from the relationship. (This is just a guess) When it says "this ship wreck from set-sail", the ship represents their relationship, and that 'the ship' (the relationship) was a shipwreck ever since the ship sailed out(ever since the beggining of the relationship). When it says "We'll map the stars, tonight they help to find a way", I think that they are trying to recover from the 'ship wreck' and that they are going to map out stars, which can resemble finding a way out of the ship wreck (the bad part of the relationship), and that tonight the stars help find a way out of the 'shipwreck'. xxxxxxxx "I've kept the best parts and play them in my mind this is tomorrow so take it or leave it" I think this line means that he holds the best parts of the relationship close to him, and plays them in his mind to overcompensate for the bad parts of the relationship. And when it says "This is tomorrow, so take it or leave it", I think this means that the best parts that play in his mind is tomorrow, and he is telling the significant other that this is what's gonna go down, and that she should either go along with it, or just forget about it. xxxxxxx "empty diaries we have nothing to say and we'll take the right steps to keep these pages clean you want the answers and I see them on your face you need to know this is where the promise breaks" When it says "empty diaries, we have nothing to say, and we'll take the right steps to keep these pages clean", I think this means that their diaries are empty because they have nothing to write, since there are no fights (currently) and that they will keep doing whatever it is that they are doing to keep the pages in the diary clean and to make sure there are no fights or conflicts. When it says "You want the answers and I see them on your face, you need to know this is where the promise breaks", this means that the significant other wants his answer on either if the relationship is on or off, meanwhile he see's the answer on her face, and she hopes that since he can see her answer, she hopes he will choose the same answer as her, but he doesn't go along with her answer, hence the line "you need to know this is where the promise breaks". xxxxxxxxxxxxxx "i know (i know) if you stay (if you stay) this will be (this will) ours to take (be ours to take) inside i (i feel) am overwhelmed (so good) from holding back (i want) but know that this won't be forever (you for all my days, but tonight...)" These lines mean that he knows if she stays with him, it will be their risk to take (this will be ours to take). When it says "inside i am overwhelmed from holding back, but know that this won't be forever" he is saying that he is fed up with holding back his feelings, but he will continue to hold them back because he knows that this will not continue forever. In the parenthesis, it says "i feel so good, i want you for all my days, but tonight...". This is pretty self-explanatory. xxxxxxxxxxx "i can't stay here you can't ask me just so you would know " This line is him telling her that he can not stay here forever just to make her feel good, and that she can not ask him to just so she would know that she is loved. xxx That is my take on this song. |

this song is so beautiful. i thought about it, and i think this song is about suicide. obviously the song starts from RIGHT when he fell off the building. "Here I lie Staring At Clouds and Shapes Of dogs and cats." he is lying on the floor after he just fell from the building looking up at the sky. -------------------------- "I hear a woman Start to yell "Oh dear God, I think he fell" " as he lies there in pain, he hears a woman yelling saying 'oh dear god, i think he fell', and she is panicing. -------------------------- "I'm the arrow, Shot straight to hell From the bow of William Tell." I love this line so much. the lyrics say it is and the arrow, but it is i'm the arrow. when he is saying i'm the arrow shot straight to hell through the bow of william tell, the arrow is symbolizing 'a sin' (and he is going straight to hell because he commited suicide which is a sin) because, if you know the story of william tell, he had to shoot a penny off of his sons cap(an order from the king) with a bow and arrow, and the bow of william tell also symbolizes a sin because he is shooting his own son. so, he is basically saying he is the arrow shot STRAIGHT TO HELL (because of his sin of commiting suicide) and by saying 'from the bow of william tell' just emphasizes that it was a sin for him to commit suicide. ---------------------- "My body lies Kissing the ground Like a cross turned upside down." the cross represents faith, and the cross turned upside down represents the lose of faith. -------------------- "A priest is rushing To my side, Begins to read me My last rites. Father you're too late My faith is weak So won't you save your half-hearted speech" while he is lying on the floor, a priest rushes to his side, and beings to read him his last rites. when he says 'father you're too late, my faith is weak' he is telling the priest that he had came too late to help him, he has already made up his mind and there is no going back, and he is telling him to save his 'half-hearted speach' because it is too late, and the half hearted speech means that he isn't saying it with his full heart and isnt really meaning what he is saying because he commited a sin by commiting suicide, so the priest being a priest isn't one who appreciates sins. ----------------------------- A man bends down and says, "Son, we're going to get through this one take my hand and let us pray..." I scream, "Please get the fuck away." this is basically self explanatory...the man tries to give him hope and he doesn't want his help because he has lost all faith. ------------------------- The ambulance is singing As cops push back the crowd I start to take my last breath, As blood pours out my mouth. The medics walk in my way I think this could be it. I hear them start to say The time of death is half past six. the ambulance is singing means that he hears the sirens of the ambulance truck. the cops are pushing back the crowd he takes his last breath(before he dies) as blood pours out his motuh. the medics (the paramedics from the ambulance) walk to him and he thinks he is about to die. "the time of death is half past six" represents the arrow shot straight to hell because if you look at a clock with hands, at the time of half past six, both of the arrows are pointing down, down straight to hell, hence "he is the arrow shot straight to hell". |
