I think its possible that theyre not making fun of "emo" kids as much as they are kdis in general. They do ridiculous things to fit in with what they think is cool, or just for stupid reasons, [I spent my last ten bucks today on black hair dye, You know dye rhymes with die] Buying dye because it rymes with die, and it fits in with the trend the kid in the song is trying to mimic. Also, the kids are just trying to stand out. 14 is the age when you've just become a teen, so your 'discovering yourself.' choosing what kind of person you might like being [For the very first time I feel kind of special] The kid likes the way he feels when he dyes his hair, paints his face white, ect. |

I completely agree with stwjester. Although some of his songs [I feel really good this day, yes] are definitely about god, other ones, like this, are just sharing his outlook on the world. He doesn't agree with the stereotypes for straight men, he thinks they should be able to show affection with their guy friends without being labeled as gay, ect. |

I know I probably screwed up on the lyrics a lot. but whatever. anyones, its obviously about a boy and a girl, boy likes girl but she doesn't like him. I think he either scared to be the reason the friendship ends, or he starts to tell her and shes like "uh, no." so he tries to take it back to hold onto their friendship. |

The last verse makes it sound a bit like she was cheating on him, but not so much to spite him, or because she doesn't love him, but just to find some excitement. i love listening to this one though. |

Although I agree with the idea of him being an anorexic man, what about the line "He’s utterly sarcastic- aesthetically confused / He tells me I’m bombastic I want to be his muse : I guess the second half could be him being irratated by her constant complaining about him losing the weight and being unhealthy, while she wants to be his reason to stop starving himself. But I still don't know about the sarcastic part. any help? |

I think that line might mean that when you grow up in a certain place, it doesn't seem as bad because you become used to it, and even though you know it's not ideal while you're there it seems better as you move on into worse things. [or merely different things, for isn't the world just as bad as an orphanage? but she was used to the orphanage.] eh, I'm probably not making sense right now. |
