messed up on a few verses nearing the end of the song but otherwise they are correct. i disagree with your Native American idea, although it is a good one. when he mentions inbreeding he means bush using fear to make all of his "children" or the American people the same. |

umm... jhoe, i completely believe you about the cassadaga county in new york, but what he is referring to is a small town in central florida. it is mostly the home of mediums(one who can speak to the dead) or "spiritually-minded people." yeah and basically this whole album is about that small town that an older woman(i'm not sure who she is) took him to. but, i do know that this older woman and conor had a relationship and she got pregnant. but, she ended up having an abortion. so yes, conor was almost a daddy.and if you search through the album you will see several references to the baby. like in the beginning of lime tree or classic cars. actually, classic cars is about that woman. also, there are references to the both of them breaking up. this is what i love most about bright eyes. its how much of his personal life and emotion he puts in his music. his older stuff and newer stuff its just absolutely amazing and gives me chills down my spine. this is a great song and a great album. support him and his music as much as you can because he deserves it. enjoy everyone:) |
