EDIT: {hide and seek trains and sewing machines all those years they were here first} Maybe talking about how we aren't safe anymore. People can come from anywhere to america but in the past all you had were trains. I think Sewing Machines & trains might be that those were the only things that people worried about in the past that could harm them. I'm listening to the song right now =) xo-megan |

When I first heard this song I thought it had to be about a relationship. But I've been reading some of the comments on here and I am actually now leaning towards the song being about 9/11. {where are we? what the hell is going on?} After 9/11 a lot of people thought this. I mean we all thought America was so safe and nothing like that could happen to us. It was a big shock to everyone. Everyone said: "this doesnt happen in America" So everyone felt like they were somewhere else. And of course it's so horrible everyone went "what the hell is going on?" cause for awhile nobody knew the exact details. {he dust has only just begun to fall} this is referring to the debris coming from the towers. A lot of people thought it would happen again so that's only the beginning. {crop circles in the carpet sinking feeling} Okay she doesn't literally mean crop circles or even marks in the carpet. She's referring to the feeling of sinking, like your hand or something on carpet. I still feel a sinking feeling sometimes when I see the 9/11 footage. {spin me 'round again and rub my eyes this can't be happening} Kinda obvious. She cannot beileve her eyes. {when busy streets a mess with people would stop to hold their heads heavy} People watching from the streets. Usually busy streets are filled with cars but during 9/11 they were filled with people. Heads heavy in mourning maybe? {hide and seek trains and sewing machines all those years they were here first} Maybe talking about how we aren't safe anymore. People can come from anywhere to america but in the past all you had were trains. It definately talks about the past. {oily marks appear on walls where pleasure moments hung before} Maybe after the death of someone, the family takes down family pictures that once hung on the wall because it hurts to much. And when a picture has been there awhile theres the outline on the wall. {the takeover the sweeping insensitivity of this still life} The images of 9/11 take over the images of the past. {hide and seek trains and sewing machines (oh you won't catch me around here) blood and tears they were here first} Blood and tears refers to the dead. The people that died for the freedom that now is being attacked. And now there is even more blood & tears. Won't catch me around here might mean she isn't living in the past anymore. Maybe because it is to painful. {mm what d'ya say? that you only meant well, well, of course you did this, it's all for the best, of course it is that it's just what we need, you decided this what did you say?} Maybe talking about Al Queda. How they are telling everyone that they're doing this for god and that what they're doing isn't wrong. Most likely she meant our government which makes NO SENSE to me whatsover. And nobody try to tell me it does cause my beilefs are different than yours. {ransom notes keep falling out your mouth mid-sweet talk newspaper word cut outs speak no feeling, no, I don't believe you you don't care a bit} Most likey means that she doesn't beileve President Bush cares. I'm not going to state my beilefs on this cause I know I'll get shit. Well this is what I think it means. What do ya think? xo-megan |
