This song talks about the self- serving, egotistical ways of our generation, and how we will bring a disaster upon us all. |

This song talks not about the stupidity of the world, but rather how closed minded we are. People now tend to be really closed-minded and selfish, and our minds are rather small. We will only acheive true happiness if we lose our small and selfish minds. |

In this song, System asks why the U.S. thinks that they own the world. We act like we own everything, especially when we butt in to foreign issues. We all have enormous egos, and we act like everthing belongs to us. |

I don't think the lyrics "My cock is much bigger than yours" should be taken literally. I think they might be referring to tanks (the "propagators of genocide"). Overall, great song! One of the better songs on Mezmerize! |

A friend told me that SOAD's lead guitarist, Daron, killed a rabbit on the way to band practice, so he named it rock and roll and wrote a song for him. That is the wierdest story I ever heard (I'd better check with my friend to see where she got that info)! As far as I'm concerned, mow down the sexy people just seems to be a funny touch, and is the funniest line on Hypnotize. |

Basically, this song says that we all live at society's pace, not our own. It's another one of their songs telling us to live our own life. |

This song is obviously about being irreverent to the system, and not buying into what the system tells us to do. We need to start thinking for ourselves, instead of letting the government and media make our decisions. |

I think this song is about how those that are truly pure of heart are dying out. We are all corrupted by the media, by others, etc. |

This is the saddest song I've ever heard. I think SOAD feels that God has turned his back on us because we are all destroying ourselves in these pointless wars. If we all die, God dies with us. That's the way I see it, anyway. I don't believe in heaven or hell, although our world will turn into hell if we keep destroying one another the way we are. God mourns not just for the people that die in the war, he mourns for all of us, because inside, we are all dying. |

Our government is not fascist yet, but it seems to be heading that way. Our generation never seems to agree with one another, and we are so obsessed with our own opinions, we turn deaf ears to cries of suffering. (Oh, by the way, it's "In this little piece of typical tragedy," not Biblical tragedy. |

This reminds me of a song by Nickelback called Fly, when a boy's mother tells him that when you die, you grow wings and fly. The boy tries to commit suicide many times because he wants to fly. (Wow! Who thought SOAD would remind me of Nickelback?) This is one of SOAD's deeper songs that makes us question what happens when we die. Do we indeed fly? Many people are afraid of this question because they are afraid to die (personally, I think it's pointless to be afraid, because it's inevitable; we are all going to die eventually. Yes, people think I am weird and emo because I believ this.). I believe in reincarnation, because why should we get only one chance at life? |

The lyrics are wrong. It's "It's never too late to reinvent the bicycle, a smile brings forth new enrgy or
life." this song is about taking time to meditate, to find yourself. |

I don't think this song is about prostitution despite the possible references. This is more about the political prostitutes who blow all of our money on (what else?) guns and bombs and the like. Love the ude solo! |

In the scond verse, it is "Leaving the PEOPLE to fend for themselves," not senses, although in the first verse it it senses. This song is basically saying the people have begun to become slaves to our government. This is NOT how it should be. |

This song is clearly about abuse leading to suicide. A woman is brutally beaten (by whom, I don't know, possibly the father quoted in the song?) and she tries to hide it until she can't take it and she kills herself because of it (the self-righteous suicide). SOAD tends to point out all kinds of issues in our society, I guess abuse had to come in sometime. (Oh, and OwnPersonalDemon, you sounded just like SOAD in your last entry. They say whatever the fuck they want, despite what others think. Good for you! Never be afraid to think and speak freely.) |

This song is a reminder that the government has completely taken away our right to live the American Dream, and they don't give a fuck about us, just our money. We've done so much for the government that we didn't need to, and they repay us by taking all our money! |

This is one of SOAD's more blatantly obvious songs. This is a protest against the war in Iraq. "The party" is the war. "Dancing in the desert" refers to the fighting in Iraq's deserts. This song comments on how pointless this war is (Personally, I think that oil is the reason for this war), and how innocent people are being killed because of it.

| System of a Down – Ego Brain Lyrics

This song is a reminder that all of what we percieve as "real" really isn't (as alluded to in the line "watch my world dissolve."). We are constantly surrounding ourselves with material possessions (our "man made shame"), and our egos lead us to start living in our own worlds, acting we are the only ones that matter. Love has taken a backseat to our egos and our material possessions, and that is causing conflict all around the world. |
