i dont understand why people are so angry about this album. I love the fact that Linkin park is willing to do more than just the tired old rapcore/nu metal formula they've used for so long. They're one of the few bands that realize that sticking with one stnadard way of writing songs is not gonna work in the long-run, and that by showing growth and expansion in their music they can demonstrate that music is about expressing your own emotions, not composing songs that'll appeal to everybody.
This is one of my favorite songs on the album. It's about losing a loved one on a Valentine's Day, and it's incredibly powerful. The slow, graceful verses all leading up to the emotional outbreak of the chorus was so effective and moving for me. |

This song is so amazing. Absolutely dripping with sarcasm in the verses with a chorus that gets right to the point. I can't tell you how many times this song runs through my head while im listening to other people complain about petty problems. I'd just love to burst out singing it sometime while someones bitching about something stupid to me |

I'm pretty sure this song is about someone getting ready to commit suicide and this is like his last words to a loved one, probably a girlfriend. This is definitely one of the better songs off the album. |

I don't like this song at all. I love LP because of their originality and unique style. I love Minutes to Midnight because they were willing to try something different. I hated this song because it was so generic. Everyone's raving about the same-old cookie-cutter oneliners we've heard a billion times before. "When the rich wage war, it's the poor who die." Come on, we've heard that rehashed over and over again so many times. I heard this song for the first time tonight and I swear it sounded like I'd already heard it a billion times before |

i agree that there are a bit too many softer sounding songs on the album, but, I have to say, I like the direction they're headed in. Their old formula for Meteora and Hybrid Theory was cool for a while, but once every song started sounding the same, I started wishing that they'd try something a bit more conventional. Minutes to Midnight came through for me on that front. While they do sound a bit more mainstream, they still have a bit of that LP style that we're used to. Basically, I hope they keep up this style of music because it really is an improvement.
Now, about this song. This is probably my favorite track on the album, maybe my favorite LP song. It's about a person who is going through a personal struggle and can't seem to find anyone who can help them with it. Now the problem is left to just eat away at the person and he/she has given up trying to find a way to deal with it. |

I don't particularly like this song, it's a bit too depressing for my tastes. It's also very confusing. The only things I really lke about this song are the lines "You don't have to be alone to be lonely," "You don't have to be sick to be dying," and "You don't have to have lost to be lost." I just thought they were clever ways of describing loneliness. Thats really what this song is about at its core: loneliness. There's not much else to it. |

I LOVE this song! So much energy, and it never gets old.
On one level, you could say its about some superhero saving the Earth or whatever. Or you could be like me and think its about a girl (or guy) who, despite her cruelty, is capable of being a good person. It's almost like the person admires this girl and wishes she was more of a good person.
But what do I know. |

This song has really grown on me. The first time I heard it, I thought it was just plain obnoxious, but then I listened again and started liking it. I agree, Misseverus, that is definitely the best part of the song. I love the almost sarcastic tone Damian takes on in some of his lyrics. |

| OK Go – Here It Goes Again Lyrics

I think this song represents a fight before a breakup or something like that. Here It Goes Again could refer to the speaker maybe having gone through this before, and he/shes frustrated that this is happening again.
I also find it interesting that this song comes between Invincible/Do What You Want and A Good Idea At The Time/Oh Lately It's So Quiet on the album. Invincible and Do What You Want seem to be positive songs about a certain someone, whereas Good Idea At The Time and Oh Lately It's So Quiet seem to be songs about breakups. This continues with Its A Disaster, A Million Ways, and No Sign Of Life, eventually leading to Let it Rain, a song about venting and getting over your problems. Think this album was meant to tell a story?
"I guess there's gotta be a break in the monotony
but Jesus, when it rains, how it pours"
