Frank Zappa – Joe's Garage Lyrics 18 years ago
This album is amazing and has a great concept. This particular song is about friends hanging out, jamming, and having fun. Everyone looks down on them thinking they are playing "Devil Music" so to speak and no one approves of it though.

This song is about a chess game but the chess game represents war. It's an anti-war song.

Dream Theater – Octavarium Lyrics 18 years ago
This album is about continuity in life. Or "A Perfect Sphere, Colliding with our Fate." It is represented alot throughout the album art in 5's and 8's. The 5 means the 5 diatonic keys (black keys) in one octave on the piano. There are also 8 whole note keys in between one octave as well. On the back of the album, the pictures of them are in the diatonic keys. The first song is in the minor key of F which can be considered the ROOT note (ROOT of All Evil), and every song after that follows the different keys in that octave in order, when you reach the same note finally, it's called an OCTAVE (Octavarium).

1. F
2. G
3. A
4. B
5. C
6. D
7. E
8. F

I'm sure you have noticed the album starts and ends off the same, in the same key and everything. It even tells you on the song pages what key it is in at the top. Each of the 8 songs represent the 8 keys in order. This pattern continues like a circle. It's easier to understand if you look at a piano too, I think that's why they put it on the album art haha. They also put it on the spine of the album.

They have alot of more hints in the art as well. On the front cover they have the 8 balls, and 5 birds in between the certain balls in the same pattern as the piano. Also, the Octopus with 8 tentacles, 5 Fish swimming in the water, Spider with 8 legs, 8 sided maze with 8 dead ends, Dominoes summing up to 5 and 8, the 8 ball. The craziest one that I think is the blueprint plan at the end with a Star with 5 points inside of the Octavarium. You can see all the notes F-G-A-B-C-D-E-F around the circle, and the scale even says 5:8. Pretty smart stuff!! I wonder how long it took to create all of this.

Dream Theater – In the Presence of Enemies Pt.2 Lyrics 18 years ago
I think that this song has to deal with being an Individual. Fight for yourself, and be yourself. After reading some of the lyrics in both parts, I believe that it is about a person who is promised salvation but has some things to give up. Like you can be immortal and live forever so to speak but have to give up your life.. body mind and soul and fight for this Dark Master. Ex: "My soul is yours, I will fight for you, I will die for you, etc". But in the end, the Heretic (which is someone who does not conform to an established attitude or set of rules) suddenly loses his faith in the Dark Master in the final part, "Salvation." Ironically, this Heretics' Salvation from losing his faith is much greater than the salvation promised by the Dark Master himself. "My soul is my own now." That's what I got from it, I could be completely wrong though.
