Oh, God, have I experienced this. You just drive down the street, singing along with your radio or just watching the road ahead and you see a car go by that you swear is just like the boy's you had some experience or even just a thing for, then you turn quickly...and it's a two-door instead of a four-door...or something along those lines. Every street you turn down, you're just sure that you're going to see them driving by and you almost get this pointless panic attack when you think you see them. I mean, you're both in cars moving away from each other, what would happen even if it was them? It's completely illogical, but so relatable that it just stings. THE most relatable break-up song I've ever heard. |

I always figured it was about Tim. Like, after the relationship ended, at times she was so lonely and just so used to being with him anyways, she would have been willing to sleep with him that night. "you're only here to know", I took to mean kind of, like you're the only one who needs to know about this. This is just for tonite. That kind of deal. |

I'd never thought of the heroin theory, but it makes perfect sense. She's admitted to past drug uses and she's always extremely, no-holds-barred descriptive about things without saying what it is. I just assumed that almost every song on the CD was referencing her divorce, but I think it'd be good if she stepped away from that to discuss her troubled past. I hope that's it then! |

Heh, bee63388, I remember that episode when they pick up the hitchhiker (Jenna Elfman) and they're reminiscing about all the female musicians of their generation who actually gave women a voice when they didn't really have the influence. One of the best conversations on that show. |

I just think she's lonely. The relationship is over and she can't help but look over all the mementos of the past, "my lover's charms", just means pictures or gifts he might have gotten her. Things that remind her of him. She can't let it go. She may not be in love with him, but she misses feeling so strongly for someone. She's just plain lonely. "Send me an angel to love", I think she just wants something perfect, something that wont let her down, "feel a little piece of heaven" after the melancholy feelings she's felt after losing love. She's afraid she'll never be ok, never love again. This song is exactly how I felt after a two year relationship of mine ended with someone I really loved. It's just the worthlessness and loneliness you gotta feel when a major relationship splits. |
