| Scratch that, they aren't missing, just misplaced. | |

These lyrics are missing the first stanza: Eyes at night never see the day because it's not in my nature golden wings rise from the plane they burn above the red earth Scale these walls in front of me have you ever stopped to wonder why they forced your voice to turn from silence to a caterwaul? |

I'd say trying to find the meaning in this is moot at this point. If it IS sex, there still isn't any sort of reasonable explanation for the third verse, and frankly I think the "poor people" argument is much more solid. It's a great song, and the magic stands regardless of the intention of lyrical organization. |

| Battles – Ddiamondd Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
The title reminds me of Demitri Martin's bit on why they never invented size B batteries. B-Batteries. D-Diamondd. Stutter much? :D As for the song, it's very cool. The whole concept of math rock is really amazing, and Battles is certainly at the top. |

| Cake – Short Skirt/Long Jacket Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
It's a parody on the ridiculous demands men have for women. At first it's simple. All he wants is a girl with nice eyes and a sharp mind. Then he gets really specific. He wants to meet her at Citibank only, and only talk when she borrows his pen. It's actually quite hilarious. Well written. Long live cake. |

^^ Holy shit. Nice work. Good song. |

| Gorillaz – 5/4 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Yeah I think it's apparent now that it's in 5/4. Which sounds awesome for the beat they have. Not real complex or anything but a great song. | |
| Rick Astley – Never Gonna Give You Up Lyrics | 17 years ago |

He's been revived from his moment of fame. He now lives in our hearts as that kickass song that was supposed to be a bunny eating a banana. Slightly disappointing, yet all the while so damn epic. Rick, keep on rollin'. |

I agree with Marty saying that it's really bashing the Fundamentalists who abuse religion. It reminds me, in that way, of In The Name Of God by Dream Theater. I have nothing against religion. In fact, I like religion. I just stop liking it when people get involved. People ruin everything... |

| Dream Theater – Panic Attack Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I'm pretty sure it's about someone with hysteria... | |
| Pagan's Mind – Embracing Fear Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Oh boy. Probably my favorite PM song. It and Celestine Prophecy are just amazing. They have such an epic feel, and they lyrics aren't ridiculously cheesy. | |
| KoЯn – Twisted Transistor Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Sounds like a bunch of whiny "rockers" who are pissy because some guy turned to religion. How mature of them, to write a song in his distaste. | |
| Billy Joel – We Didn't Start the Fire Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Warade...I'm pretty sure he says Pope Paul... I mean, out of ALL the lyric places I've seen, it's been Pope Paul. In 1963, he was elected to the papacy, which fits the era, even year, of the other events in the stanza. It is 'rock and roller cola wars' as several have stated, commenting on the Pepsi and Coke 'wars', by using popular music to appeal to the young adult demographic. |
