I definitely think this song is about addiction. The whole Thirteenth Step album is about someone (not necessarily Maynard) who is addicted to drugs. It's all about finding the thirteenth step to getting clean. This song though, represents the insanity of a person who more or less, has the craving for the drug. Nothing but the drug matters to them. |

I couldn't agree more with you Zakkun1m, but even if that isn't the meaning, I don't think any of us here will ever feel the meaning of this song that Maynard has created. He has an incredible outlook on life and is an absolute genius in the field of art, so I don't think it's really necessary to lock in to one particular meaning of the song. |

*possibly dreaming* this song really is about a guy who has suspected his wife of cheating on him and he kills her, and has sex with the dead body. being that shes dead, he got a heater for her cold, dead thighs. its a fucked up song, and you really gotta listen to it to interpret what i wrote about it. and when he says lets make a new start, i think he might be dreaming of this happening and when he wakes up he will try to prevent it. awesome song, a little fucked up, but i like the horns and the orchestral efforts that A7X added. |
