I just heard this song today and I just wanted to say I agree with Fade.Out's theory. The ending when he says, "Some day you will die and somehow something's going to steal your carbon" he could either be talking to us or the "higher power" that created carbon. Someday we will die and something will steal our carbon or perhaps someday the "creator of carbon" (the higher power) will die and something will steal all the carbon.
Either way I found this song humorous, catchy, beautiful, amazing, and ironic. Awesome song... |

And as for the title, I have no clue... Maybe once he believed in god and prayed to him but now he doesnt so his hands are "hidden" so no one knows who he prays to...maybe no one?... idk lol |

Perhaps hes singing about/to "god"... "There is no place for you in this. Can you find your way back away from us? You invade daydreams and ruin everything" Could be saying he doesnt want god in peoples lives so hes just telling him to leave us all alone. "YOU'RE EVIL BUT PLACID" god is evil but placid... cant be seen. But the most convincing line is... "Steep stairways leading down to God. SHOW YOUR FACE so you'll convince all of us." but tahts just my OPINION |

What I got out of the song was: The singer leaning over the "dead body" of his "perfect enemy" and the doctor just says that he/she/it is dead as dead can be. But he wants the enemy to wake up and face him... Now idk what hes talking about when he refers to the "enemy" but thats how I saw it anyways... |

But I think the whole song is about Orestes being born... he says "I can almost hear you scream" and all it is basically Orestes wanting to break the fuck out of his moms belly to kill her... One of my favorite songs... along with every other song Maynard ever wrote lol |

IDK if anyones said this yet but here's what I think it MIGHT be about... A kid... or baby... and the parents are trying their hardest to have the baby but maybe its not working? so they are thinking about an abortion ("Should I Could I") Then it says the lady conceiving the baby is trying but maybe once again not working? ("This time you've tried all that you can turning you red") turning red from all the pushing... Im just throwing things out there work with me... ("Naming a kid, living wasteland") When I first heard this on the radio I thought A Perfect Circle? or maybe Maynards new band? lol... But anyways I love this song and band... Take care |

Im just throwing this thought out there... Maybe '3 Libras' is symbolizing 3 lovers... Someone said that Libras may refer to women... Women to me are more passionate and stuff... and more lovable... Maybe its just referring to 3 people: 2 that love each other then an outsider that loves one of the 2 and that person doesnt see them... Im not good at explaining things though lol...
