| The Arrogant Sons of Bitches – Yeah, I Don't Know What It's Like to Be Around a Bunch of Hipsters Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Jeff is a true human being. That's all. | |
| The Decemberists – Valerie Plame Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Dick Cheney is a bad man, we get it gritona. But The Decemberists aren't The Rx Bandits or Anti-Flag, they aren't going to write songs to call out political officials. I personally think it's a neat song and I like that the idea came from something as commonplace as watching t.v. and hearing an interesting name. |

| Hazen Street – Stick Up Kid Lyrics | 16 years ago |
It's a song written from the perspective of a kid who grew up in a rough neighborhood who is both proud of his past and thankful that he didn't end up leading a criminal life. Great song. |

| Destroyer – No Cease Fires (Crimes Against the State of Our Love, Baby) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| downright amazing song | |
| Titus Andronicus – Albert Camus Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this is my favorite band to quote in a facebook status and I am in no way embarrassed to admit that. as for the song it's the same depressing, pessimistic, blunt, know-it-all crap that is in just about all of their songs enjoy it |

| Against Me! – Tonight We're Gonna Give It 35% Lyrics | 16 years ago |
You should give New Wave another listen. It's trendy to say they went to shit because they signed to a major and put out a VERY polished record. But with the exception of 2 songs the record is very good and still stays true to what Against Me! has always been. And the B-sides more than make up for some of the more lackluster songs. As for this song I'm less inclined to think it's about signing to a major label than others are. There's definitely some possible reference to it and there could be dual meanings, but at the end of the day signing a record deal is the kind of thing that get's people down on their knees in a bathroom praying. I think it's more about blowing a chance at love and regretting it. It's a song about desperation and self-doubt. That's all that can be said for sure. |

| The Rural Alberta Advantage – The Dethbridge in Lethbridge Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Two lovers, one of the wants to get out of the town they've both grown up in and the other wishes to stay. Bitterness ensues. "You let me down. I let you down." perfectly sums up how these two people are moving in opposite directions. |
| The Rural Alberta Advantage – Don't Haunt This Place Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is a beautiful song. It's about breakup and regret and how you always wish for things that used to be, but you can't recreate a feeling and a moment in time. |

| Less Than Jake – Happyman Lyrics | 18 years ago |

| Less Than Jake – Goodbye In Gasoline Lyrics | 18 years ago |
there's a lot of things this song could be about running away from your problems and suicide are both safe bets i was always kind of thought about more as a song about arson, since it's a leftover track from anthem it fits in with escape from the a-bomb house and that's why they call it a union light the house on fire and leave or light the car on fire to commit suicide idk though, just my crazy ideas oh and it could be just fucked up thoughts that go through you're head when you're a little less than sober at 3 am |
| Less Than Jake – Ask The Magic 8 Ball Lyrics | 18 years ago |
neither one is a copy of the other they just both have the word eightball in them great song |
| Against Me! – Don't Lose Touch Lyrics | 18 years ago |
a few things 1. I'm pretty sure that this song is a warning to the listener. There's a lot of fake materialistic bullshit in the world and that makes it very easy to lose touch with reality. Cell phones, ipods, television. They're all distractions from the realities and issues in the world. When he sings "i'm losing touch" it's to show how easy it is. the singer fears that he himself is losing touch. 2. Against Me! didn't sell out. Those of you who say they did aren't very good fans. They signed with Fat Wreck Chords, since when are they an evil corporate record label? There somewhere in between and indie and a major label. It's not selling out to sign with a bigger label in order to provide for your family and spread your message to a larger audience. so basically, fuck you dumbasses who call them sellouts 3. The reason you dumbasses call them sellouts. go listen to handbook for the sellout by five iron frenzy, or at least read the lyrics while you're at this site. You're being selfish because you want to be the one who new about them first. You're not, and you know it so you try to diminish the band and make other people who like them jump off the bandwagon. |
