Jack, believe it or not, is straight forward. He doesn't try extremely hard to be clever or to hide things. Sometimes you just have to know what he likes and what he does. I truly believe this song is purely about sex and the reflection upon the part of her personality that tells her not to put out. I think it's that simple. It's the blues. |

Jack talked about equipment failure and bad luck while recording. He vaguely mentioned on NPR that a cymbal fell over during recording in one of the songs. It's in this song at 3:47. That's the one thing I always think about when I hear it. |

It is sexual, a common theme in blues. And for anyone who knows what a 145 blues progression is, this is obviously blues. It makes reference to the microphone, the hanging ball and biscuit, as well as Bob Dylan and the movie The Third Man. |
