| Björk – Show Me Forgiveness Lyrics

I think what I find most amazing about this song is that it's entirely acapella, there is only one voice, no editing, no special affects. It's a solemn apology, showing yourself bare and stripping away all the masks. |

Yeah, she did write it after seeing Pan's Labyrinth, but she also said the title is "Pneumonia" because she had pnuemonia for awhile and the lyrics of the song reflect the sickness and how it seems to suck the life force out of a person. To me, this song symbolizes courage, being brave enough to face the world instead of running away from it into a fantasy world like the girl from Pan's Labyrinth. Sometimes, the world is an ugly place, but we all have to be able to face up to it and live in it despite the horrors. Also, it's urging us to speak out and voice ourselves instead of hiding our feelings and being willing victims. It's basically saying to LIVE. |

I think this song is about remembering our family. Whenever I hear it, it reminds me of being sick and inside on a cold winter day and having a hot bowl of soup to help you get better. In this song, I think the healing is more spiritual/emotional. When she is down, she remembers the unbreakable bonds of family and the love that will always endure. Another great song that helps me feel better. |

Yeah, this song is all gibberish. Bjork said the title means "All the brightness" in icelandic, but the song itself is just singing without lyrics. She said when she was younger she'd sing songs in gibberish because she was terribly shy. It's sort of an ode to her past. |

I think the meaning about this song is fairly obvious. The question she is asking is to be interpreted by each person on a personal basis. When I hear the song, it reminds me of "God". There's a presence that lies underneath us that never lets us down, and it's always there to protect, help, and give us hope. This song always makes me joyful. |

This song is about the healing process. Sometimes we try very hard and end up failing, and hurt ourselves in the process. She's saying not to try so hard, but to enjoy now and let positive feelings flow freely. It's a very powerful song, I listen to it whenever I need to calm down or to regain hope. |

I never understood what this song could mean until I read what Bjork's reasoning behind it. She said it's about the part of her that writes song, the "submarine" part of her. "Do it now!" is her telling herself to write the song now, or forever lose it. Inspiration is fleeting. |

| Björk – Sonnets/Unrealities XI Lyrics

The title is Sonnets/Unrealities Xl because the song is actually a poem by EE Cummings from his Sonnets, and this is number 11. Unrealities being things that have not happened, more like things that may happen. A sort of meditation on "what if she leaves me?". A very beautiful poem, and Bjork made it more so by turning it into a song. |

When I hear this song, I imagine someone desperatlely trying anything they can to fix their life. They try and try again, putting faith in luck and fate and seeing how the outcome developes. One of my personal favorites, it always induces a state of introspection in me. |

This songs means alot to me. I've had a long-distance friendship with someone who I love very much, and he sent this song to me as reminder of our bond of friendship. It was the first time I ever heard the song and it single-handedly fueled my obsession with Björk. The part "Emotional landscapes--they puzzle me" is my favorite part...you can hear the emotion in her voice. |
