| The Cribs – Our Bovine Public Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
it seems we spent too much time in groundwork to be ground into the dirt by those who'd never exist... lalai- it's more about the type of people that follow the crowd, or indeed the "herd"... and the new "independent" music that just takes the piss out of every indie band that ever was - like the fratellis and the kooks selling their dullard riffs to the public on the back of an "independent image". i've heard the bovine public, beyond the obvious, is the way people act 1am in the morning stumbling out the club, just acting like animals. self-perpetuating thing - people don't want to be treated like animals by the police etc but the fact is if they act so much like them they will get treated as such. |

| The Cribs – Hey Scenesters Lyrics | 18 years ago |

it's definitely cop it - the liner notes say so. guickens - i think you've got the wrong end of the stick - it's about the people who look down on others because they don't have the "right" taste - something explored in wrong way to be - the type of people who live their lives through gossip and rumour, and only criticise others and try to act cool. |

I'm alone, and I'm cold Just another number On another row And I never knew my name. I disappear for hours, Over the smallest things I disappear for house, Ba da ba da da ba ba Ba da da da Ba da ba da da ba ba Ba da da da And I never knew my name. |

| The Cribs – Shoot the Poets Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Bloody beautiful song, I've seen Ryan silence a whole venue of people with this song. Incredible. Slightly less incredible is the lyrics here. few lines stand out: because SHE thinks she is a different class I left my heart in a provincial town, yeah. Ripped and stained came off the track. All the same, top work from the Jarmans. |
