Hey guys. This is from a concept album. It is about a man who encounters a woman who is destroying her life with drugs and is trying to bring down a man with her. It was made for the underground movie "More", hence the title of the album. Also in a biblical sense a woman luring man into certain destruction with her sinful delights. "Endless sleep" = death. She is calling from the deep = "hell". This song goes to show that there are certain women(harlots) you shouldn't mess around with. All in all to avoid the temptation of this sorta woman. |

Keep in mind, this song is "From Genesis to Revelation" and has nothign to do with a birthday party. The debut Genesis album was a concept album dealing with the accoutn of the Holy Bible. I see "it's your birthday freind" as being the birth of Jesus. Also the first two stanzas of the song mean that, "I", being Jesus, is he wrong for being amongst sinners to minister to them. As far as the other lyrics in the song, Iam sure they have some kind of meaning realating to the ministry of Jesus, but I havn't taken much time to decipher those meanings. |
