| Bon Iver – Holocene Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Just because you don't know what jagged vacance doesn't mean? So he should substitute the word vacance with a totally obscure word like "bank" just because you think that will make better sense? Maybe you should go read some Shakespeare and suggest some changes be made to his work too. |

"And it came to me then That every plan is a tiny prayer to Father Time'" i think this one of, if not the most beautiful and powerful statements ever written in the english language. |

| Motion City Soundtrack – Pulp Fiction Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I hate to be one of those guys that tries to relate every single song on earth to relationships, but I think this song was written about some troubled relationship, only, the story of this relationship-gone-bad is told by referencing as many pieces of pop culture possible. I get a vibe that he was fucked over in a relationship, every reference to the female is a negative reference. When it comes to the chorus, and this is my completely subjective take on the lyrics, but when I read "the plot sucks but the killings are gorgeous", I can't help but be reminded of all the failed relationships I've been in, and how all of their plots sucked, but when they ended, the killings, it was always some amazing, horrible happening, where I would experience all of these emotions that typically lay dormant in me. Those moments suck, but they really make you FEEL, thus, they're gorgeous moments. This song seems to be about a girl that came into his life, really flipped him upside down, seemed to be everything he was looking for, then it became apparent that it was probably too good to be true, and it sucked. |

| John Mayer – Do You Know Me Lyrics | 15 years ago |

This song would be one hundred million times better with just two verses, and no repetition of "do you know me at all". That lyric shouldn't even be a part of the song. The guitar part makes this song, the constant repetition is completely unnecessary. |

| Third Eye Blind – How's It Going to Be Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Most of these comments are almost correct, but this song is about one simple thing. The consideration of how things are going to be when a long relationship comes to an end. Reminiscing and comparing good times to now. Thinking about how this person will be a stranger soon. |

| Jimmy Eat World – Cautioners Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| hahahaha "dashboard lyrics", get the fuck outta here | |
| Third Eye Blind – Sharp Knife Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think it's about needing a sharp knife to sever ties with who or whatever has this person down in their all-time low. | |
| Brand New – Bed Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Also, there are no Fight Club references. This album is also not about a relationship that went sour. This album does not reference Donnie Darko. Hipster kiddies that try to relate every piece of music in existence to your shitty teenage relationships and played out movies, take a step away and let the adults discuss the music and its meanings. Thanks, mgt. |

BrandNewman55 just stop. You're so far off it just makes me want to cuss you out since this is the internet, and all. But, try to picture Jesse Lacey saying "yeaah, we got the idea for the concept of Daisy from a 1988 Indian Musical" Ok I'll stop myself here, because typing that made me want to cuss even more. |

| Brand New – Vices Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVYUcDNVnks This should answer all of your questions about the lyrics. "ten yearS", you can clearly hear the "s", "on rewind". He's also saying "shrink and my mind's eraser" I think Vices was the albums opener because of its importance to Jesse, and even the rest of the band members. He needs vices, hope, a marriage license. He needs 10 years on rewind (where was he 10 years ago? leading a simple, relaxed life. Brand New was formed 9 years ago.) He needs to buy a bride, because his days of touring and being a slave to a music industry are dead, forgive him. I think it makes sense, and excuse how corny that is, but I think the lyrics in Daisy are so simple because the needs of Jesse, and the issues in his life that are fueling his music writing are very simple. |

| Brand New – Be Gone Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| im definitely hearing "coming home" a bunch. not calling my name. | |
| Brand New – Daisy Lyrics | 16 years ago |

hahaha im pretty sure you're putting Vin's ability to write lyrics up on a pedestal. he doesn't write lyrics worth a shit. compare Cleanser or #2 Untitled to Handcuffs or Daisy when half of the lyrics of the song start with "i am", it's pretty easy to figure out the meaning behind the song. sorry, but you're the one that comes off as an idiot. they're all clearly not "into" Brand New as they all once were, and Jesse's decision to let Vin write the lyrics is a clear indication of Jesse's lack of willingness to contribute to the album. even if he says that he and Vin were "at the same place" in their song-writing, he has to realize he's the superior lyricist, and should have written the lyrics himself, as this will most likely be BN's last album for a couple of years. |

| Brand New – Jesus Christ Lyrics | 16 years ago |

| Brand New – Fork and Knife Lyrics | 16 years ago |

the best part of this post is the fact that you quote a lyric that isn't even correct like it means something special to you, not to mention the fact that "reperate" or any alternate spelling ISN'T A FUCKING WORD jesus, how can people be so stupid? |
|
| Brand New – Limousine Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| ARE YOU FUCKING RETARDED? | |
| Modest Mouse – Ocean Breathes Salty Lyrics | 17 years ago |

| Brand New – Cleanser Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I would kill to know what is really said right here: "Please cut me out, cut me out Plot and make me the lover you wanted When you were young and asleep And I’m fine when you, you burn my core from a bottle The lover you wanted while you waited so long" I don't believe that's correct. |

| The Format – If Work Permits Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| From 2:25 on, this song reeks of Neutral Milk Hotel, and I don't even think he tried to hide it! | |
| Lydia – Hospital Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"Now look, we've made a fool out of love When all we want is to be enough When all we want is to feel enough" Is sung by Aaron, the lead singer of Copeland. Mindy, the bands keyboard player, is a friend of his. If you've never listened to Copeland, I suggest you try them. |

The comments are never going to change on this song because the comments are posted in chronological order, when they should be posted in reverse chronological order, so people can see the most recent discussions on page 1. We're all fucking aware that this song is about Katie Flynn, the 7 year old girl that was decapitated in a limo. |

| Stars – Reunion Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I've never had a lyric ruin a song entirely for me, but jesus christ "sucking freezies in the rain" makes me shudder it's so horrible. | |
| Minus the Bear – Lotus Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Fucking killer job on the lyrics. This song is _incredible_. Couldn't ever make out the last half of the song, that looks really good, though. |
|
| Minus the Bear – When We Escape Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Not to argue about it, but despite how it sounds, he's definitely saying "do". Read the line before that lyric, it's a question asking, "do you feel the beat?" the next lyric is him answering that by saying "I see you do", not too or two. =] |
|
| Minus the Bear – When We Escape Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Wow. This song is really sexy. I didn't really like it too much until I could read the lyrics. Great song. | |
| Minus the Bear – Knights Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Good job on the lyrics. "Ah ah no more" should be "Ah ah little more" or "Ah a little more" no way to tell on that one until a booklet or official lyrics are released. New album is great, I want some Burying Luck, Ice Monster and Lotus lyrics, though! |
