by far some of the best lyrics ive heard from a band in a long time. Heart Felt. True. To the point while being able to make it a song.. my fucking god. it has to be in my top 5 of songs. the music is on par with sigur ros and EITS. with much respect. the lyrics "Because I could love and drown... in your God damned smile lines" "but you still can't stay" (telling an ex you know whats good for you to survive mentally" i know this song is about his father, but it could apply to any relationship. i have a feeling this song is about him being in an "almost-relationship" and hes holding his feelings back so they dont rush into shit because he knows how that shit turns out. (^^^ I've been down this road, too many times before I'm not loving you, the way I wanted to) basically hes giving his feelings to the girl in moderation. oh and i also get the feeling that like him and this girl have a very sexual relationship, but he's keeping his love locked down because hes unsure of his feelings. wow your not a real a7x fan if your gonna say that A7X is not even in the slightest religious. and for all of you who are gonna drop a good band just because they mention god are nothing but mindless drones. if you don't like the song because it says the word "god" then turn it the hell off. the stereotype of Christians is that they are perfect and dont cuss, and thats why this song can't be interpreted as religious and neither can avenged sevenfold. IF you actually paid attention in the A7X DVD then you would know that they were raised catholic, and that a lot of there songs are taken right out of the bible, Not verbatim, but parts taken out. this song is really good. i like it a lot. peace. A major A7X fan. |

ok now i think i know what this song is all about. hes wanting the strength to commit suicide. "sorrow rebuild me as i step out of the light". hes becoming less social,but sorrow will comfort him in a some sort of sick way. "misery strengthen me as i say my goodbyes". if you've ever considered commiting suicide, you would know it takes balls to say goodbye to someone, so hes asking for more pain to give him strength to kill himself. "i heal my wounds with grief". instead of fixing his problems in a posotive way, he again is wanting a negative way to deal with him to give him strength to commit. "and dream of you" dreams of someone. "and weep myself alive" means he's crying himself back to somewhat of a sain mind and realizing that what hes doing is stupid. this is just what i think. i dont actually know. |

im glad they had that girl dress the way they did in the video. the song (to me) means not to get caught up in all the scene stuff to try to find yourself, because who you are is you right now. natural, and beatiful. and if you follow that scene shit, your setting your self up for the let down because that scene shit is really sad, kids who dress like that dont know who they are. its more of like a comfort type thing, almost like they dress like that to be a part of something so there not left out. |
