I read on one of his interviews on Yahoo that this song was about a trip he took to Mexico. After seeing all the devastation and poverty, he felt very thirsty and decided to have a drink of water. After drinking the water, he had uncontrollable diarrhea and became very sick. This is known as Montezuma's revenge. After missing 2 days on his trip to Mexico, he decided to write a song about the hazards of drinking water and Don't Drink the Water was born. |
