this is a kinda bizarre thought, but i'm thinking that the five varieties may be the five general ethnicities: white, black, hispanic, oriental, and indian. I'm thinkin gthat that whole line means that he's not the only like him, and that there are some of different ethnicities just like him as well. I just thought of that right now, i have no clue if that's true or not. Great song btw |

Amazing song, beautiful lyrics, quite difficult to decipher. I think it may be about a man disovering aa wasteland after a war took place, with the bodies of dead soldiers all over the fields maybe, and the loneliness that is felt. I really aren't too sure at all though, i'm probably way off. |

My favorite DT osng of all time...so sweet And i really dont have any thing to say that everyone else hasn't/ It just explains the betrayal, the affair, and Nicolas' curiosity and obsession over sloving the mystery. |

This is an amazingly beautiul song, i'd say it's the best DT ballad. Anyway, this song is about a person, presumably female who is drowning. An older man saves her, but dies in the process. The rescued then cannot live with the fact that someone she didn't know saved her, and felt that she should've died instead. The first lines in the chorus state that she was given life, but refused to accept it as she should've of. At the end of the song, I believe that the woman dies, or even commits suicide herself, and is brought up by her savior. I also believe that there is a religious meaning behind the song as well, obviously about Jesus sacrifing himself for the world. Maybe it could be about christians losing faith in their religion? Never the less, one of DT's best. |

The bass in this song is fucking awesome, one of my fav off the deadwing album. The song kinda reminds me of the song "funky monks" by the red hot chili peppers. They're both very bass driuven, and are pretty mellow, with a more upbeat chorus, and a crazy guitar solo. |
