| This is a perfect illustration of music and lyrics combining to create a moving emotional effect. Clearly, as others have said, it is about two runaways who end up as male prostitutes. What makes it special is that it is a love story too, although possibly a platonic one. The overlying mood of melancholy trades off against an undercurrent of courage in the face of adversity in the lyrics. "We fuse like a family" and "We're kings among runaways" and "Our hands tightly holding". Whatever happens, the impression is that their bond is stronger than anything life can throw at them and cannot be defeated by circumstance. Beautiful and moving. | |
