Personally, I think that this song is about two different people who've had a fight and one of them (or both of them, really) is thinking about how it's all their fault, but they don't have the guts to appologize. "And don't forget that this was all your fault." And inside they know that they were wrong. "Cause all you can't deny is all held inside." Everything they know they've done wrong is what they deny and neither of them wants to be the one to back down because they "just can't get past themselves." Both people want to be the winner, and that's where the 'wanting to be more...' comes in. The rest with the 'game' and 'not being the winner' and the 'haunting memory' is self explainatory. At the end we know that if they stay that way that it's 'really everything' (meaning that's pretty much they end of them) and that they both feel the same but 'can't relate.' Still, deep down they know that they have to come clean some day and be the bigger person... or people. "It's just a matter of time- 'Til you know you'll be somebody tonight." But anyway, that's my take on the song :D |
