Now Skinny Puppy has been quite... vauge on this album... but this is my 5:15 AM interpretation of it. sitting there faking at the picture of perfection [ Pretending you're something you're not, as in okay, as in image perfect, posing as perfection. ] waking at the time done fine grey matter [ Grey matter meaning brain without bloodflow, therefore implying zombification? Probably calling this subject another drone to society waking to everyone else's world and conforming to it as well. ] looking at the blood with the brimming of a dead head [ Assuming this person is cutting him or her self, it shows mental flaw, and it shows how the person knows he or she is not perfect. ] wondering if the sunshine will ever catch your eye [ Wondering if you'll ever see reality ] picking at the dead skin how does gonorrhea feel watch it re(a)d (keep it sped) falling off a horses high [ Apparently what this means is the person is doing some type of drug, such as crack, or heroin, and is giving his or her body for the drugs. "falling off a horses high" might imply some time of withdrawal, I'm new at this mind you. ] (second day) sunshine working out the bigger sin deep inside the house before the roof caved in [ The person is digging him or her self into a deeper addiction towards the drugs, sex, the "high" life where everything is said to be perfect. ] sleeping on the side (trains watching through the absent) (peace for love and killing them)..... everybody's always flocking by death the bodies kicking down everyone is said and done believe this shit is still to come [ This is stating how reality is taking the person down a peg, and the downward spiral, and the withdrawals begin to take the mass effect. ] pain is just his tragedy why is everything so needy bottomless laughter raises the shaft taking it after (the shit) [ Due to his or her fall from the top, due to the drugs, and the indignifications the person went through, this person is being mocked from those who once knew him or her, then he or she figures out there are more needs to becoming popular and famous than he or she had percepted, and he or she is mocked and outcasted for his or her ignorance. ] ain (mistrust) (it's) tragedy pain is just his tragedy why is everything so needy [ About the same as above, but now the person no longer trusts anyone. ] |

If you listen to this song in a dark room alone, You start seeing things move, I never really did drugs (Besides a few stems), But this song is simply amazing. This song can make you really think about things, And it made my heart beat faster. Trent Reznor is a good, Enough said. But for the meaning It's simply about either homicide or suicide, And within the song the rat's noises make me think that the dead persons body was dumped in a sewer, And around 3:10 you can hear some of "Closer" within the song, I really think you start hearing it around 3:20 actually. This song was built to a word I do not believe in, Perfection. Simply Amazing. One of Trent's best work. |
