Joni Mitchell – Urge For Going Lyrics 17 years ago
This is one of the first songs I've ever heard by Joni. When I was five years old my parents used to play it in our living room. The way I interpret it is that it's a song about moving on, and how moving on and change is necessary. In other words, the summers in life cannot remain forever, and winters constantly freeze over them while new summers form. Just all about the changes in life, and how they are inevitable.

Joni Mitchell – Amelia Lyrics 17 years ago
I think that these lyrics are incredible. My interpretation resembles somewhat of the interpretation that threearmedman had. I feel that he was right on. And to add, aside from her comparison with Amelia Earheart, it shows Joni's innter conflict of wanting to be independant and a lone traveler, but also craving love and companionship. Amelia is the symbol of the lone traveler, but while joni was "looking down on everything" from Amelia's view she "crashed into his arms."
