well ya there is the whole get stoned thing to think about but bear with me here as i try to probe deeper...this song and album (Blond On Blonde) came out at the time when Dylan was getting a lot of backlash for going electric and to me whenever i heard this song it was Dylan explaining that they were "stoning" him whenever he played electric songs and the "everybody must get stoned" part was Dylan saying everybody must go electric..i don't know maybe i'm overthinking it but whatever something to think about if you have the time
