I think the song is about death (possibly euthanasia). With all apologies you wake me up >>Dying person being woken by a loved one. You have to carry on Lift when the song becomes heavy is the persons last breaths as they die and the calm following is once they are dead, peaceful. I think the song is too pogniant to be simply the breaking up of a relationship, it sounds like the death of a relative, lover, or member of close family. |
