| Throwing Muses – Bright Yellow Gun Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think this song is about the recording companies. Bright yellow gun being a metaphor for a gold pen with which the artists have to sign a contract which in turns ends up killing them and their freedom to write openly. | |

The line in this song that most get to me, maybe for its ambiguity, is: "But you know I think I recognise your face But I've never seen you before" and my own personal interpretation is that it's refering to the feeling that you get when somebody you thought you knew so well has dramatically change in ways that you don't think you know him/her anymore... or even more metaphorically, that maybe, it's not the person that changed but you instead. But I emphasize that this is a free interpretation. I guess it's not a very deep thought, but I think that the deepness is in the way its put. |
