I don't understand people that don't like Lily Allen, yet go find her lyrics just so they can bash them? I reckon those people need to find a life, but thats just me.
Personally, I think this tune is catchy. Its not supposed to be teaching a lesson or giving the cure for cancer. Its a good songs, some people like it, some don't, there's no need to get in huge arguments about it. |

Im Venezuelan but I live in the USA and I think its stupid to say that british rock or american rock is better. Both genres have had bands that change rock and roll for ever. It is true, however, that most of the changes or the great new rock genres have evolved in England, an example being punk. But either way, its stupid to compare them. Music is music. There's good, there's bad, and there's people that like each one. btw trane, couldn't agree more with you. |

I love how they reference other songs, like "Roxanne" from The Police. It shows their not some stupid kids that don't know anything and are just riding the wave, they actually know their stuff. They're awesome :) |

It certainly is "boots". For one, it says so on her CD. And it would have nothing to do with "dirty old man" because its says "while YOU stare at your boots", not "while dirty old man stare at your boobs." Hahaha that would be an entirely different song.
Btw, I never thought it was about a pure girl going into the real world either. I like stkatherine's idea. This song just sounds magical to me, like with fantasy animals and such. And then the second half reminds me of the sea. |
