im not entirely sure what this song means, while i do agree with DarkEternal about the breakup thing, i dont necessarily think hes the one feeling the pain of it, the lyrics r "Your eyes are haunted
by what you wanted" indicating that the other person in the relationship might be feeling the pain instead of him |

Those that dont die in war have lost something else in war, even if it cant be seen on the outside. This song tells the story of a war veteran who has lost everything, both his limbs and (perhaps) a slight amount of his sanity. But thats just my analysis |

this song is about the memories of his life, and how it was a sort of paradise to him, "i fell into yesterday" is him remembering his past. the title itself "days of the phoenix" is symbolic, as in mythology the phoenix is an immortal being constantly being reborn, and thus never dying. his memories are the same way; always there and never dying no matter how much they go into the back of his mind. |

this song is about ritalin yada yada, but lets go deeper as ToolisGod did. the song is putting forth the message that the pharmaceutical companies and the doctors themselves arent really there to help us very much, or at all for that matter, the line "then they're pushing it" mentions that the doctors dont so much care about our well being with or without the drugs, and view us (the patients) as a money making cashcrop to use at thier advantage. |
