One of my favorite things about weezer is how good they are at displaying emotion in their songs. This song is the perfect example without even listening to the words you can tell what it is about. And then knowing the words and the story behind it (Madame Butterfly) just makes it so much better. |

I never really liked this song, until I read the lyrics, now it is one of my favorite weezer songs. I can relate to this song so much, the japanese girls, the cello, the public enemy, and of course near the ending when it picks up. I think what rivers means by I'll bring home the turkey if you bring home the bacon is that he is willing to give up his career for this girl. He would let her be the money/bacon earner in the family and he would take care of the house needs such as food which is the turkey. Thats what I get out of it. Awsome song. |

I may be wrong on this, but I think that this song is a parody on the old show Nickelodeon Guts show. There was a a part of this show in which the contestants had to "spill their guts out" and talk about themselves which relates to "spread your large intestines boldly out across a coated white poker table" from the song. |
