| This song honestly explains EXACTLY how mine and my dad's relationship has been for the past 5 years... and I'm only 16. My dad just doesn't seem to be interested in anything I have to say. I'm not the sporty kid, or the popular one, so he kinda seems like he's lost interest. I can't be the daughter he wants me to be. and I can't just form myself into a different person just to please him. It's not fair to me, but he insists that I'm here to make him happy and that's it. He wants me to go against the things I believe and the things I enjy just to make him happy and it really hurts. My dad used to be my hero also.. but as the years went on, things changed. The things he says to me are so out there, you wouldn't even believe that a PARENT was saying them to THEIR CHILD. I've grown up and realized my mom was right about my dad all along. Here's my opinion.. like it or hate it... either way it's there. Okay, I'm gonna say something, and perhaps it's already been suggested, but I'm just not gonna read through 150 comments to see. Does anyone else think that maybe in thefirst few lines, One look puts a rhythm in my hand It means that whenever the guy looks at her, he gets angry because of what is happening to her? You know, like his hand is shaking because he wants to punch out the guy, be it a boyfriend or a father or whatever? Just a thought. I thought everyone knew at the beginning, he's talking to a girl who has been through the abuse and it makes him mad... but ya i think ur right.. |

| personally, this song means a lot to me. i know a lot of people who have been in abusive relationships like this, and stayed for a long time dealing with being treated like this.. i think its unbelievable and shocking that people actually go through things like this on a daily basis. I really hope this song reached out to people in these situations and helps them get out. | |
