I don't think the idea that some girl saved him is the only literal idea here. Read these lines: "Trouble, feels like every time I get back on my feet SHE come around and knock me down again Worry, sometimes I swear it feels like THIS WORRY is MY ONLY FRIEND Well I've been saved by a woman" When I read it this way, I think that the character of trouble/worry is being personified to be the WOMAN that saves him. It's this idea that he's EMBRACED trouble/worry, and that it's the only thing that's been faithful to him ("since the day I was born . . . will not seem to live my mind alone . . . she won't let me go"). What do you think? |
