"Well you can tell by the way I move my feet that I’m a genuine insurrectionary. It’s a kind of nervous shuffle that contrasts so well with Bolshevik bravado." All it takes in Britain to be a political revolutionary is small, anxious movments, since there is so little passionate politicism. Compare that to the rallying calls of Bolsheviks in 1917s communist Russia, it's nothing. "And you can tell by the way I raise my hand - not in a fist but for a question." Also, you can tell I'm a rebel in British politicism since I ask a questions. Compare this to being a rebel in communist Russia. "Take out your manifestos and then put them away. I implore you to ignore every word I say." These manifestos are just formalities, the ideas and ideals they contain arn't politically important anymore. Infact, I'd prefer you (a citizen) to ignore this part of politics altogether. "And if my status as a figure on a stage implies authority, I hope my caution and my age belies my humility" If you're silly enough to fall under my authority purely because I'm in a political position then It's no stretch to hope you won't read into my real intent, instead seeing my appearance and basing opinions on that... "And will to take my rage and try to turn myself into a one-man landslide." ... and from this, I'll take my real, underlying passion for power and abuse my personal image to win power (as opposed to using the party's ideals to appeal to voters.) Rest is a lot more simple. |
