This song is about the hurricane that happened in Hali in 2003. Matt was obviously on tour during this time in montreal, homesick as usual. Throughout his albums he makes continued reference to a girl who's at home, upset he's never there. Matt also makes frequent references to drugs, which could be the 'sugar' in this song. But the boats on the rocks and trees falling before the leaves is 100% about the hurricane. |
