| It seems like the sun is probably male and the moon is female. But I think the lyrics are worded ambiguously as to which is which on purpose for the sake of perspective. It really depends on which side you identify with. I heard this song for the first time today and it made me feel really happy because it reminded me of a boy I met one summer. I always thought he was bright and warm like the sun, but I'm his complete opposite. And opposites do attract. The words in this song are so simple, but they describe exactly how I feel about the situation. It makes me wonder why I never thought of those words first. Sunsets in the middle of summer really are one of the most beautiful things you can see in life, so it's a great metaphor for how the person you love can make you feel like the world has lit up when you're together. | |
