| HIM – Love In Cold Blood Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I agree with what all you before are saying: that she's singing about Ireland and England which can be compared to a woman and a man in a relationship. "Ah, please talk to me English man What good will shutting me out get done (...) Oh listen, English man" she's saying that violence (pointing at conflicts between the Irish and englishmen like the Bloody Sunday and so on) doesn't solve anything, that the only thing that'll restore peace and harmony is talking to each other, conversation. England must take Ireland seriously and listen to what the country/woman has to say. I think she also tries to say that even though Ireland is dependant on England an needs help and guidance, Ireland also needs to prove that it can stand on its own feet perfectly well. England must also not take Ireland for granted, but apreciate it and treat the people who lives there nicely, like they would treat fellow English men. |

+ I think it's up to each and everyone to decide what the song is about. The "bird" can be: anorexia, having a secret (like being gay), schizophrenia, depression, an illness (like cancer), some kind of addiction (like drugs), anything YOU'd like, cuz a song is personal. You decide what the song means to you... + I'm so sorry about my terrible english, I know I suck, I just get so over excited when I'm typing xD |

k, I think a lot of people has maybe misunderstood something about the lyrics and the song. Yeah, it seems like people are making fun of this kid, that he's being picked on by all the other kids, the "emo-cliché. But obviously, if you take one more look at the lyrics and the video, you can see that what's wrong with the person in the text is something more than just feeling alone and unwanted by the other kids. There are small chances of that "glances can cripple the heart and devour the soul" all by themselves. It looks like this person has mental problems. He's "Terrified of whats inside" and trying to escape the darkness that endeavours him. But I do respect all you guys' opinions, I also think this person is afraid of life itself and its challenges, but it seems to me like there's two sides of him, the "dark" one that's pulling him down, holding him there and wants to choke him, while there's the other side of him that wants to survive and live a happy life and forget about all evil and bad memories. Are anyone with me? ^^ |

I agree with the people who think that this song is about drugs - but it can also be about love- (or maybe a combination of the two?) the first part of the song is about how good you feel when ur stoned/drugged/high w/e and all the things you can do and experience when ur high and the second part of the song: Back to the street Down to our feet Losing the feeling of feeling unique Do you know what I mean? Back to the place Where we used to say Man, it feels good to feel this way Now I know what I mean is about how the singer excperiences the effect of the drugs ending their impact on his body, he's "loosing the feeling of feeling unique" and he can't no longer do the things he could do when he was drugged/in love. The weird thing about it is that he says: Back to the place Where we used to say Man, it feels good to feel this way" I do not believe it feels good to fall out of love/going sober again after being high, or maybe the singer likes it? He doesn't want to be in love/be drugged? I dunno, these are just speculations... |

I totally agree with taniusha, and I think that the girl he sings about has lusts, and no matter how much she loves her bf and she feels guitly about it afterwards she has to do what her "demons"/sinfull lusts tell her. "No love lost under her will" I think it means that she doesn't wanna loose her boyfriend even though she's cheating on him. He doesn't wanna be with her anymore though... well, that's my opinion, and ppl, what does the word "church" mean in this song? I mean, does he wanna understand her and pretends that he thinks it's okay so that she will hold her tears in? "If death is the answer to love’s mysteries Then bleed on my darling to the sound of a dream " what does this mean? |

| HIM – Poison Girl Lyrics | 18 years ago |

yeah, I agree with all the ppl who thinks it has to do with drugs, or it could be something else, his/ville's/who ever's girlfriend has become a bicth or sumthing, and he needs to leave her, because he sees that he just gets miserable by being with her, and that he wants to leave her alone, cuz he want her to recover by her self, and he thinks that is the best solution "and love wants us dead for me and my poison girl" he sees that their relationship is doomed, that it's to late to fix everything and that he has to leave her if he doesn't want a broken heart.... OK: I'm horrible at explaining stuff... jeez... |

and yeah, when I'd watched the video [european version] it seems like he's taken some kind of drug, smoken something, u know, the sky is purple and there's lotsa weird color in the video, maybe he's high and singing about the drug and how it feels when he's running out of it - singing about the effect of the drug is coming to an end or w/e.... okkk, my english sux... |

OK, I love this song, the melody is so beautiful, but I dunno what i think about the lyrics... I think he's watching a girl who's loosing her will to live, she's depressed, and he can see her power, her happiness, "loosing her life" - she looses her spirit, her good mood. Maybe this is a girl Ville/the writer doesn't like, cause I would NOT enjoy to watch a friend of mine or a boyfriend die/loose his/her spirit. I would've cheered him/her so he/she wouldn't commit suicide/die. OR: he can mean it ironical, so that the girl is someone he really doesn't like, that he enjoys the beauty of his enemy's dead. It's like he's a demon and her beauty and power is his life-source... sumone out there who agree with me??? x] |
