| For some reason I thought this song was the worm's final words to the rockstar he idolized in the beginning of the Antichrist Superstar album. Now being a rockstar himself, he feels the need to let him know that he did fine on his own a way that is mocking him at the same time. But this song does confuse me a bit. Please correct me if I'm wrong. | |

| Hmm. Not quite sure but I think the song is talking about a person (the lead singer presumably) who has lost faith in whatever religion they followed. Possibly because they see how much of a hellhole the earth has become and they don't believe God is going to save them. Thus the line "My God you lost a world you tried to make us love". And the end of the song is fairly simple to decipher. "I can feel his hands as they pull me in" probably refers to how the church persuades people into following their religion using God as a tool. At that point the singer makes a plea to God to "let him fly", which is self explanatory. | |

After reading all of the comments posted here I have came up with a pretty basic idea of what the song is about. To be honest, I find it hard for me to try and figure out what this song means when I can't get past how incredibly horrendous it sounds. Don't get me wrong, The Used is great band and have some of the most powerful music ever composed. But couldn't you do a bit better than "Liar, Liar, Pants On Fire"? That seems a bit juvenile in my opinion. Who here remembers when they first started out? "Do You Want A Song Of Glory? Well I'm Fucking Screaming At You!!!" - Box Full Of Sharp Objects Those were the days. Now, I'm not usually one to judge or critisize what an artist is trying to express in their songs, and I'm not saying this song has no meaning. For all we know it could be the most meaningful song they've ever written. It just wasn't expressed in the best way, and they could have done SO much better. |
