I believe it is "I can never lose it". I isolated the left channel with my Creative Wavestudio and listened to it loudly on my Logitech speakers and high quality headphones. Don't doubt my equipment. Its obvious that there is an L sound rather than the M that everyone speculates. Slowing it down guarantees he is at least saying "I can never -- it". So I highly doubt its "love you" I believe it refers to his salvation. Even though he has committed many sins as a "rock star" (see Milestone), he is still going to heaven because he put his trust in Christ. The bible is clear in that once you are saved, you are always saved. He probably doesn't understand why God would let such a sinner into heaven. Like in Untitled 2 when he says: "If there's any justice in heaven, then God won't let me in, he'll lock the gates and take my weekend pass away, for this impathetic wait they'll see me off, reserve my golden crown while I am cursed to walk the earth for a millenia, I know I deserve worse but it terrifies me and I can't take it anymore..." Once you put your trust in Christ you are going to heaven, end of story. He feels remorse that such a sinner will get into heaven yet some very good but unsaved people are doomed to hell. I also think that he has abandoned his, potentially once strong, relationship with God. He misses this relationship but is too ashamed to return to God. This is probably another reason he believes he deserves hell. This fits nicely with one of the themes of the album. The struggle between man and God and how man ignores and defaces God. Your relationship with God should be yours not what some religious or spiritual person tells you. Criticize away scene kids... God still loves you |
