Here's my take on this song. Another perspective. I think this is about someone who bumped or met someone - a particular person that holds a significant meaning into their life but unfortunately things aren't what they expected. Maybe @ that time they both were in a relationship or the the other person needs to go somewhere for school/job. So they just let it go... but ever since, they couldn't stop thinking about each other. That maybe if they've given it a chance, or taken the risk, hence the following lines... "Two years later, you're still on my mind..." "I'm speeding by the place where I met you For the 97th time, tonight..." "if I could ask God just one question Why aren't you here with me, tonight!?" ----and so they're still hoping that maybe, oneday, someday they'll meet again... "Someday you'll know That I was the one for you..." |

what does this song mean? here's what it means. Girl broke up with her Bf because of some stupid dumb ass argument [you know how it works]. Over some months, they think that what happened is for the best...denying themselves the fact that they still care for each other. Bf wants his girl back but just can't say the right words. Gf still in denial. Bf gives up. Then Girl starts to realize what a stupid ass she was...hence, crying her heart and eyes out every night. She then makes a move to win her BF back, but to her it might be too late because as well...he's with another girl. Time passed...they still couldn't stop thinking of each other. Girl still hoping for another chance. Boy, suddenly realizes that this is the time to make amends...because the truth is he still loves her and NOW ITS UP TO HIM to make the move, hoping that it's not yet too late. Since, over the months the Girl did try to ask for forgiveness...for another chance..but he just wouldn't let her in. |

| i do agree with SaveTonight. This too is my song for my ex whom i love still. we're still friends and i'm still hoping for a second chance on love and to make amends. I was impulsive then and stupid and bcause of my actions it lead to some untoward reactions. And now he's in his darkest moments in his life, and this song just says it all. it pains me to see him down..so i've got to muster my strengths to help him whatever it is that he's going through right now. | |
