Consider the opening to this song. It's a notification that he has reached out to voice himself, and found nothing in correspondance. The next set of lyrics describes what you might call a Disian or netherworld type references different embodiments of Satan. Now, most people like to jump the gun here and say, "Ooh, they're blasting at religion!" or "OMG, they're Satanic!" Not the case. It's a mere statement of feeling hollow and empty inside. Filled only by that abyss or evil that remains in "nothingness" This was obviously done by malicious intent of another, whether it was a passive or agressive attack on persona, it destroyed what was left. Leaving them with nothing to live for, and prematurely dead. Now all they seek is repayment to all living, and to test them to be worthy to live. If you haven't caught on by now, watch the Saw trilogy. It's got a similar theme, they're just more upset about the case than the character "Jigsaw" is. |

The song is indeed about the life of Charles Manson, but it goes a bit deeper than that...doubles meaning into the lyrics. Charles Manson was put away for his cult killings and actions upon society that he -used- for his own desire. It's one of those, "Death is the greatest love you can give" type of things. Base statement is, Manson was a user of life. Fair and square on his own terms, regardless of how fuked up a state of mind you'd have to be to agree with that, moraly. Hence, the word Bwomp. The second portion refers to what we're seperating the Users from. The Whores. Or politicians in power to be exact. What they do in legislation might as well be considered no worse and probably more horrid than what Manson did in his lifetime if the full information of bill legislation was available to the public. The question then remains, "Why do we allow this to pass upon us passively, and strike down those who actually believe in something and fight vigilantly for it?" Sure, Manson may have been insane, but he was indeed human. The majority of America, are just those lost in Bwomp and need to be rallied against the injustices around them. |

| Mushroomhead – Simple Survival Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Honestly, this song is just the theme song of Saviour Sorrow, which actually translates into "Save Your Sorrow." The whole premise behind that is because of the epic fail everyone thought the band would be with disputes, member transitions and retirement (J Mann's especially, because of his father and philosophical insight). Regardless, this is what they've been through, this is the choice they've made, and the consequence they're going to live with. It's a -simple survival- really, and they are going to make it even if it kills them. |
