| Rihanna – Umbrella Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Umberella, eh? THREE BLOODY SYLLABLES NOT FOUR. This song only serves to reaffirm my hatred for hip hop and rap. |

| Amanda Palmer – Astronaut: A Short History of Nearly Nothing Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I am absolutely living this song right now. "Astronaut" is (at least to me) about loving one who does/can not love you back. Even the title implies that the person is far away, be it literal or otherwise. One of my favourites, for sure. |

| The Dresden Dolls – I Would For You Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Amanda's voice is so strong on this one, I love it. | |
| Amanda Palmer – Blake Says Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Things change. Does that mean that they change you? Blake says, "no." |

beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Devendra on this song is so amazing... |
| The Dresden Dolls – A Night at the Roses Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I have a feeling this one's about loving someone with a narcissistic personality. | |
| Amanda Palmer – Ampersand Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Ampersand is about unrequited love withing a relationship. (It can happen, I've been there.) Eventually, and inevitably, there comes a time when you get fed up with always being the one to call, to care, to love, and not get anything in return. Perhaps this one's linked to "Boston?" |

| Amanda Palmer – Pro-Vanity Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Haven't we all been disgusted by ourselves before? Couple this with misanthropy and you have provanity. |
| The Dresden Dolls – The Sheep Song Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think this one's about having that one last strand of hope snap - when you're left as a sobbing heap on your floor, praying to an entity that you don't necessarily believe in. The sort of peaceful lull of the song is exactly how I've felt when I have hit rock bottom in the past, like "okay, there is no way I can plummet any further, so if you're up there, great. If not, I have nothing left to lose now." Oh, the Sheep Song. It's gotten me through oh-so-much. Anyone care to agree? To dispute? |

| The Dresden Dolls – Eisbär Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Hah, I had no idea what was being said until I read the translation just now. I think it's hilarious, but there is a serious case of the metaphors in there too. |
| The Dresden Dolls – Drunken Butterfly Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This one's straightforward, as far as I'm concerned... That said, I love this song, and the cover is brilliant. |
| The Dresden Dolls – Tous les Garçons et les Filles Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Aside from the wretched translation, it is, as Ms. Palmer states, a song about being lonely. Ah, the pains of being by oneself. |
