this song is amazing, i love the imagery and the music is incredible too. my favorite line is "may the living let us in before the dead tear us apart." i think bruce is saying that we need to accept people for who they are now, and not judge them based on what their ancestors did or stereotypes. |

I agree with this person, I don't think this song's about sex. I think he sees this girl at a party and she's really great and all the other girls are nothing compared to her. She's looking for somebody from the "boys in her line" to step up, and she pretends she doesn't care that none of them really like her, and she never gets her romantic song like the virgin Wurlitzer. Even though he isn't her first choice, he's the good guy who'll take her home a make sure she's okay, and be hers "for a song", so he's not asking for anything more than to just drive her home and give her this song she's been looking for, but it turns into more with the "new kid of hello" and all that. |
